Tues, August 25 – TechShop Detroit – CNC Meetup

When: 6:00 – 8:00 pm | Where: TechShop Detroit – 800 Republic , Allen Park, MI

 

techshopThis group was created to get together local CAD / CAM / CNC enthusiasts for learning, sharing ideas, and keeping up with what’s new. Chat about G-code, speeds and feeds, software successes, and more. All attendees are encouraged to bring projects, photos and friends.

 

TechShop is a playground for creativity. Part fabrication and prototyping studio, part hackerspace and part learning center, TechShop provides access to over $1 million worth of professional equipment and software.


 

Wed, August 26 – Town Pump Happy Hour (Tech + Other Professionals)

The group meets every other Wednesday for a Happy Hour at a different downtown bar. This group is not just for cheap drinks, it’s to meet new people, make new friends, network, and most importantly, make Wednesdays less crappy.

Wed, August 26 – Personas, Usability Testing, and More! Oh, My!

detroit uxAt our August event, we’re excited to have two of our own Detroit User Experience members sharing their work experiences with personas and usability testing. Each presentation is approximately 20 minutes long, and offers tips and insights you can use in your own projects. We’ll have plenty of time for Q&A.

 

Detroit User Experience (DUX) is for local people working in a UX-related profession or who would like to know more about it.  Our aim is to build a community of like-minded professionals with plenty of opportunities to network, share ideas, and learn from one another.

beaglebone users groupWe’ll be doing a quick introduction to Python and a small bit of I/O. This will be to make sure we have enough Python background to get started on vision stuff with Python in our next meet-up.

 

This group is for getting together to learn how to build and connect with electronics, especially BeagleBone, and support each other in teaching others. All skill levels are welcome—an interest in making things and sharing how to make things is all that is required.

What was once an old German print shop has been revitalized to house tech startups, designers, nonprofits, freelancers and Detroit based businesses. Our historic building is now a collaborative office and event space just blocks away from Campus Martius, Greektown, and Ford Field. We are located at 1442 Brush street, on Floor 2.
