We’re here with another installment in our Employee Spotlight series! Each blog in this monthly series will introduce you to a different member of our team—giving you a peek into what makes us tick as a company and as individuals.
For February, we’re featuring Will, one of our Technical Recruiters at our Dallas branch!
What tips would you give a jobseeker in today’s market?
Don’t sell yourself short! It is always important to be clear and concise when it comes to writing your resume; however, I’d encourage you to include more information, not less! We can work through your resume together and decide what is vital for the opportunity you are applying for.
What tips would you give an employer in today’s market?
The market is HOT (for candidates)! Avoid ‘going through the motions’ of interviewing at least X-number of candidates. Whether it’s the first or last candidate, if they are the right fit, don’t wait! In today’s market, many times candidates have multiple opportunities they are considering, so if you find a Rockstar, don’t let them slip away by waiting to see how the candidate pool looks after multiple rounds of interviews.
What do you love most about working at Brightwing?
It’s going to sound cliché, but it really is the people. Not just the people I work next to on a daily basis, but the leadership is truly invested in the success of the employees.
How does Brightwing support your career and personal goals?
Brightwing has always encouraged any sort of training or learning opportunities. They’re open to suggestions and new ideas for ways to grow as a team as well as any type of professional training.
What advice would you give new recruiters and salespeople at Brightwing?
Have an open mind! Brightwing doesn’t do recruiting like the rest of the industry does recruiting. We care deeply about the relationships we’ve developed with both clients and candidates, and we really do value establishing the right expectations with new business opportunities.
What is one of your favorite hobbies outside of work?
Watching Bruce Willis movies. Harry Stamper, you da man!
What motivates you?
The success of our entire team – if the team does well, everything else will fall into place. And bacon – everyone needs to bring that home.
If you could go anywhere in the world, where would you go?
On an African Safari!
Fun fact?
Wood Frogs can survive being frozen solid, over and over again.
